Tokyo Monorail

Tokyo MonorailAre you wondering how to access central Tokyo after arriving at Haneda international airport? It might be the best choice to take the Tokyo monorail. If you are arriving at the international terminal then it is highly recommended to take the Haneda express line to Monorail Hamamatsucho station which is only a 13 min ride. After arriving at Hamamatsucho station, you can take the Toei Subway line or the JR line to other major cities like Tokyo, Shibuya or Shinjuku (10~15 min ride). The ticket fare from the Haneda international terminal to Monorail Hamamatsucho station is 570 yen per person, and is definitely quicker and cheaper than taking the taxi from the airport. Taking the bus to central Tokyo is indeed another option; however traffic jams are frequent in Tokyo so choosing monorail transport is highly recommended.

It is also awesome to see the nice scenery of Tokyo bay from the monorail. The seats on the monorail are allied so that the scenery from the windows can clearly be seen. Especially in evenings, the Led’s will be light up all throughout the city which is a fascinating view! If you are to take the Tokyo monorail, be sure to check out the Rainbow Bridge, which is a white motor way bridge stretching from central Tokyo to Odaiba. The bridge itself is 798 m long.

Another nice thing about the monorail is that there is a place to leave your luggage right next to your seat, so there is no need to worry about space. Besides, it is only a short 13 min ride so it should not be a major problem if the monorail was crowded on that day. You could instead take the rapid express (15 min) or the local line (18 min) for a slower and comfortable ride.
