Things to do in Nakano

Nakano is famous for its many enthusiasts. Nakano Broadway, just past the arcade from the north exit, is well known as a holy land for subcultures. There are many shops catering to subculture enthusiasts Crammed in here. Mandarake, with its extensive line-up of manga, is packed everyday with customers from around the world looking to buy.
There are numerous shops selling figurines, animation cels, miniature cars, toys, and other items to make the dedicated enthusiast drool. You can get a feel for a different “OTAKU” culture from Akihabara.
You basically access Nakano by the JR Chuo or Sobu Line via Shinjuku, but it might be more convenient to use the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line from the city center.
