A Japan’s traditional performance Kabuki keeps evolving.

Super Kabuki is the one of the evoltions which combines Japanese traditional Kabuki acting with modern theater technology including modern music background, stage art, costumes, and lighting.
Ichikawa Ennosuke Ⅳ is taking over the spirit of his uncle Ichikawa Ennosuke Ⅲ who is famously known as the founder of Super Kabuki, and Ennosuke Ⅳ is focusing to create a new Super Kabuki.
Now it was fixed that Ennosuke Ⅳ perform a new Super Kabuki on the stage set on a famous Japanese anime ‘ONE PIECE’. He accomplished his first performance in Shimbashi Embujo in this March and at the same stage he will perform his second Super Kabuki in this October through November 2015.

This time, one of the most popular Japan’s anime was chosen to act as a Super Kabuki. A manga ‘ONE PIECE’ has been written by Eiichiro Oda since 1997 and an animation series has broadcasted on TV. It has been expanding the number of fans in Japan and all over the world since the series began. It is about a young man who explores the ocean as a Straw Hat Pirates searching the world’s ultimate treasure known as “One Piece” in order to become the next Pirate King.

Ennosuke says “It is a big challenge for me to produce a Super Kabuki with such a popular product, but at the same time it is something very worthwhile. I will tackle this great adventure with much passion in order to entertain everyone irrespective of age.”
