Sunshine City is one of the biggest commercial complexes in Tokyo. It contains a large variety of facilities such as an office building, a hotel (Sunshine Prince Hotel), an aquarium, a planetarium, the Sunshine 60 observatory, an indoor theme park called Namco Namja Town, the Ancient Orient Museum, a theater, shopping centers, and restaurants. It is a land mark of Ikebukuro and always full of many entertainments so that you can easily spend your time unexpectedly there.

If you are searching a great view looking down the city, try the Sunshine 60 Observatory which is located on the top of Sunshine 60 building. During the day the beautiful view including the sight of Mt Fuji or Tokyo Bay Area takes your breath away and the night view is also very lovely.

For shopping lovers, Sunshine City has two major shopping centers ‘alpa’ and ‘ALTA’. There are about 200 shops for apparel, accessories, character goods, toys, souvenirs and much more, and a variety of restaurants are offering every taste in those shopping centers. About the restaurants, there are other options in the Sunshine 60 or in the Prince Hotel as well.

It is located a 8 minutes walk from JR Ikebukuro Station East Exit and a 3 minutes walk from Higashi Ikebukuro Station (Yurakucho Subway Line).
Shops in Sunshine City are open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, restaurants from 11:00 to 22:00.
