They want you to experience the sensation of virtually walking on the ocean floor as sea bream, stingrays, turtles and many species of fish swim overhead and around you. There’s plenty to see and do in the Shinagawa Aquarium.

There are many sharks, the sand tiger shark, the grey reef shark, and sharks from the waters all around the world. Then there are the Dolphin & the Sea Lion Shows which are very popular with families.

Opening Hours – 10:00-17:00 (closed on Tuesdays)

How to get there:
8-minute walk from Omori-kaigan Station, Keihin Kyuko Line
15-minute walk from Omori Station, JR
15-minutes by complimentary bus from Oimachi Station, JR

Shinagawa Aquarium is the one located about 10 minutes from Shinagawa station by train.
This is not a big aquarium, but it’s enough to see many kinds of water creatures.

The best ones I like here is a shark and jelly fish. That shark has a tremendous impact, and you will be scared enough even though you don’t see movies about sharks.

I wonder if it’s just me, but jelly fish has a special atmosphere to heal me. Watching it makes me feel relaxed somehow. This aquarium has many kinds of jelly fish and you may enjoy it.

Another good thing about this aquarium is that they have a big park with a lake. You may have a relaxing time with green before or after the aquarium.

I took my daughter couple years ago, and I personally enjoyed seeing many different kinds of fish! The dolphin & sea lion show was very good too! It is a nice aquarium to visit if you are around Tokyo. I wish I could go there again.
