Samurai – Japanese Regional Cuisine Tavern

About three minutes walk from Kayabacho station, there is a Japanese regional cuisine tavern which serves dishes of Kyushu region. You can see the big lanterns and the purple banner-flag in the front side of the tavern, and the entrance is in the back of the building.

There are table seats, counter seats and terrace seats so that you could choose the best seats according to your usage scenes. The private room is also available from 4 people, and you can enjoy your meal without caring other people’s conversation.

They provide fine Kyushu dishes using fish directly delivered from the Nagahama Market in Fukuoka prefecture by airplane. You can taste the fresh sashimi (sliced raw fish) in season. They serve only fish of the best condition on the day, so what you can eat depends on each day, and therefore all dishes are in best taste. One of the recommendation is ‘Gomasaba’ which is raw mackerel seasoned with soy sauce, sesame and spices which goes well with alcohol.

‘Sumotsu (innards seasoned with vinegar)’, ‘satsuma-age (deep-fried fish paste)’ and ‘karashi renkon (lotus root seasoned with mustard)’ are all local food in Kyushu, and you can enjoy the same taste in Tokyo. There are many other original Kyushu dishes, so ask the staffs if you do not know what it taste like, and they will explain it to you.

They also have many kinds of shochu or Japanese spirits, and you can order it in half the price on Mondays and Tuesdays!!

Besides the fine dishes, the friendly store manager and staffs are also attractive. They will grant your requests as much as possible and amuse you with interesting stories. You will be pleased at the nice food and drink, and you will even be cheered up by them. Enjoy your nice time at Samurai!!
