The name Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port is a mountain-girt village in the Basque Country of France.

The owner chef Naoki Wada was charmed by the Basque Country and  he had studied Basque cuisine there for 4 years. After returning to Japan , he had studied Basque cuisine furthermore in a restaurant in Japan. Finally, he opened this restaurant Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in February 2013.



In the attractive menus in this restaurant , the most notable foods are Kintoa pig’s foods. Kintoa pig is a black pig that is put out to grass in the Basque Country.The meat of Kintoa pig is a good smell and not greasy because they grow by eating acorn and beech. When they are cooked to a simple griller , the food have fleshy good flavor.
