OnJapan café is a unique community café which opened in 2014 near famous Cat Street in Harajuku. The concept of the café is to transmit Japan’s rich food culture as a source of Japanese culture to foreign tourists.

They are offering a variety of dishes all day from traditional Japanese dishes to seasonal specials with domestic ingredients and local specialties from all over the country. Their dishes attach importance to Umami taste which is an essence of Japan’s food culture and it brings out the tasty and healthy dishes.

As well as the carefully prepared food there, the drink menu is also outstanding. OnJapan Café has some selection advisors for their drinks, and there are a wide range of selected Japanese sake and Shochu from throughout Japan, local beers, wines, and Japanese whiskies. Non-alcoholic beverages are also various and well selected such as broad line-up of tea including green tea, macha, local black tea and more.

More than just a café, they are also providing plenty of events and workshops such as Japanese incense ceremony, calligraphy workshop, Sake workshop, Japanese table styling and a lot more. All of the events are held in both Japanese and English for locals and foreign tourists. Reservation via email would be required.

Furthermore, OnJapan Café displays a lot of English books on their shelves featuring Art and Culture in Japan and it is available to read or browse them during your stay in the café in order to find the information you need for your trip in Japan.
