Have you ever seen the film “Lost in translation” ? This big hit film is about wistful and subtle human relationships. The story starts when lonely married young woman and lonely middle aged exhausted man happen to meet at the bar in foreign city, Tokyo. The bar with moody atmosphere is a New York bar in Park Hyatt Hotel Tokyo. New York Bar is on 52nd floor of Park Tower in Shinjuku and it is famous for wonderful cocktails with top-shelf liquor, stylish live music and amazing night view. They have some NY-themed original cocktails sand wide selection of California wine priced at 1800 jpy and above. They are a little bit expensive but incredibly tasty.

As the bar offered only light dishes, having dinner before you come is recommended. Or you can order something filling to New York Grill next door.

Emotional live music performance make the atmosphere more romantic. When Lady Gaga stayed at this hotel, she suddenly started live performance at this bar making the guest surprised. Wishing that you may have another chance for it!

Though this bar does not take reservations, there should be enough open seat every night. The seat in front of the window is recommended but the seat inside is also nice as you can sense the atmosphere and night view at the same time.

Park Hyate Hotel is located quiet area of Nishishinjuku, It is about 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku station, 2 minutes by shuttle bus which departs from Shinjuku station.

Park Hyatt occupies from 30 – 60 floor of Park Towner. There are many excellent inertia shops are on 3rd and 4th floor. Delicatessen on the 1st floor is recommended for quick lunch where you can have outside table. You can spend extraordinary after noon here in Park Towner and rich and gorgeous night at New York Bar escaping the hubbub of Shinjuku. Form Park tower, you can go to Tokyo Metropolitan City Hall office, Kumano shrine, Opera City within 5 minutes walk.
