Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises Nominated for Oscar

Do you know Hayao Miyazaki? He is one of the greatest animators and directors in Japan. His latest work, a Japanese animated historical fantasy film titled The Wind Rises, was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film on Jun 16th.

There are many people who like him and his works not only in Japan but also all over the world. This is third time nomination; first time is Spirited Away in 2003 and second time is Howl’s Moving Castle in 2006.

The animated feature is a fictional biography of Jiro Horikoshi. He is the inventor of the Mitsubishi A6M Zero Fighter and other Japanese fighter plane designs that were used in WWII.

We wish The Wind Rises would win the Oscar.
