How to Make an Origami Zabuton(Cushion)

The Japanese loves this traditional cushion called “Zabuton”. We need it when we sit on cold floor, watching TV,  watch sumo in the Kokugikan, or entertain an important person. Use this zabuton of paper as a coaster for your glass, or mug!

Origami Zabuton(Cushion) Instructions

1: Fold up the bottom one-third.

2: Fold the top part over.

3: Fold in the both ends to make triangles.

5: Repeat the process with the different colored sheet, and put them in this way, and place right side one on top of the other.

6: Fold right hand corner of the lower piece of paper on top of the other piece of paper.

7: Fold down the tip of the uppermost piece of paper.

8: Fold in the left hand corner.

9: Fold the bottom point in, inserting it into the pouch.
