Hanasaka ji-san is a creative Washoku (Japanese cuisine) restaurant in Shibuya which features Halal Shabu-shabu menu for Muslim customers. Shabu-shabu is one of the popular hot pots. You soak thinly sliced meat quickly in kelp flavored boiling water with vegetables, and dip it into a special sauce for a few second and eat. Nowadays, Shabu-shabu attracts a lot of foreigners for its taste and being healthy since the extra fat of the meat is taken away during your soaking.

Hanasakaji-san is the only one providing Halal Shabu-shabu in Tokyo, although there are some more halal restaurants.

As well as ordinary menu for non-muslim customers, they serve Halal Shabu-shabu using officially certified Halal beaf which are processed according to the Islamic law and supplied via MHC (Malaysia Halal Corporation). In addition, all the other ingredients are also halal-certificated. Furthermore they prepare the Halal meals using exclusive kitchen tools separately from the tools for the ordinary menu. Therefore all the meals are safe and secure for Muslim customers.
They are offering a variety of Halal menu, not only Shabu-shabu, but also some course menu with other traditional Washoku such as sushi, sashimi and tempura. The restaurant is full of comfort atmosphere with indirect lightning, and so you can enjoy your meal as long as you like in such a relaxing space.

It is located 1 minute-walk from JR Shibuya Station South Exit.
Open from Monday through Saturday, from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm for lunch (Mon-Fri), from 5:00 pm to 0:00 am for dinner (Mon-Sat).
Reservation is recommended.
