Exhibition of Cherry Blossoms With Japanese Culture 2014

tokyo eventAn exhibition “Edo Sakura Renaissance & Yozakura-Utage” , which meas ” Edo Cherry Blossoms & A Party Of Cherry Blossoms At Night” will be held at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall from March 3, 2014 to March 30, 2014.

The aim of this exhibition is to spread the culture of Nihonbashi which had gathered and begun from there because of the starting point of the highway in the Edo Period. In this time Kimura Hidetomo, an art aquarium producer, is challenging to let people know a Japanese sense of beauty and excellence again by uniting modern art to the old culture and create new attraction.
In this time, the theme he wants to show is “Cherry-blossoms viewing” which is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of cherry blossoms. This exhibition makes you experience novel cherry-blossoms viewing of enjoying its beauty by the five senses without using any real cherry blossoms.

This exhibition also shows Japanese food culture in a new way such as Japanese Sweet, Japanese Tea, Sake and so on. During the term, a Party of cherry blossoms is held from 7 PM. People can view cherry blossoms at night with drinking at the night’s cherry blossoms bar. It offers various kind of sake and those who order Kyoto or Mie’s sake can drink it with Japanese traditional grass. It’s planing to hold special live performance by modern and old artists on weekends.

1,000 Cherry blossom petals made from grasses is shown. They have been made by the skills succeeded from Edo period. It represents that beautiful cherry blossoms by the grasses and projection mapping. You can enjoy fantastic and beautiful installation of videos which is made by the fusion of the traditional craft and latest technology.
