Asakusa Samba Carnival

Asakusa Samba Carnival is one of the largest events in Tokyo where more than 500 thousand people get together every year since 1981. In addition, thanks to the efforts of the teams who join this carnival, this event has  grown into one of the best samba carnivasl in the Northern hemisphere.


The highlighs of the carnival are the colorful and gorgeous outfits and beautiful dancers in them.The team who join have their own theme and  make designs of their outfits and floats and compete with them. A top dancer called ” A queen of Bateria ” has a sash over sholder.

The parede starts in front of Futatenmon of Asakusa tempe and goes through Umamichi street. They then turn right in front of Matsuya shopping moll and go through Raimon street. The goal is near Kokusai street.


This year, it’s going to be held in August 23th, Saturday.

The parede begins at 2 pm and finishes around at 5:30 pm But it tend to be changed schedules so you better go earlier than planned time.
